Phone Repair in Pakistan
The DOs & DON’Ts You Need to Know

Before you hand your phone to any mechanic — from Hall Road to Saddar — read this first.

5-step prep ritual — do this before going to any repair shop
1
Back up data to Google or iCloud
2
Remove SIM & memory card
3
Note IMEI & photograph your phone
4
Sign out of Google / Apple accounts
5
Get a written quote before work begins
Do these things
Research the shop first. Ask on local Facebook groups, check Google reviews, look for 3+ years at the same address.
Demand a written quote. Part name, labour cost, total — in writing before they touch anything.
Prefer authorised service centers. Samsung, OPPO, Infinix, Xiaomi all have official centers in major cities. Genuine parts guaranteed.
Ask for a warranty in writing. Reputable shops give 30–90 days on parts and labour. No warranty = walk away.
Watch the repair if possible. Good shops let you observe. Refusing to work while you watch is a yellow flag.
Test everything at the counter. Screen, cameras, speakers, charging, fingerprint, Wi-Fi — before paying a single rupee.
Avoid these mistakes
Don’t fall for low prices. Half the market rate = fake part. You’ll be back in a month with worse problems.
Don’t hand over a logged-in phone. WhatsApp, banking apps, photos — all accessible. Sign out before handover.
Don’t DIY unless trained. Opening a modern phone wrong voids warranty and risks puncturing the battery — a fire hazard.
Don’t approve work under pressure. “Just say yes, it’ll only take 10 mins” is a trick to rush your decision.
Don’t ignore new issues after repair. Ghost touch, battery drain — go back immediately. Likely caused by the repair itself.
Don’t accept “we opened it, you must pay.” Diagnosis is free at honest shops. Charging just for opening is a scam.
Bait-and-switch pricing
Quoted Rs. 3,000. Bill arrives at Rs. 9,000 because of “extra damage found.” Always get it in writing.
Counterfeit parts swap
Original part replaced with a cheap copy while charging genuine prices. Note screen markings before handover.
Data theft
Photos, banking screenshots, WhatsApp — all copyable from an unlocked phone. Sign out of all accounts first.
Invented faults
Dusty port becomes “motherboard fault.” Get a second opinion on any repair quoted above Rs. 8,000.
Holding phone hostage
Refusing to return phone without inflated payment. Document everything and threaten consumer court — it works.
Fake “original” parts
“OEM,” “A-grade,” “first copy” — meaningless terms. Only official brand centers guarantee manufacturer parts.
Repair type Approx. range Watch out for
Screen — mid-range Android Rs. 3,000–8,000 Yellow-tint copy panels

Charging port repair Rs. 800–2,500 Blamed on motherboard
Water damage treatment Rs. 2,000–6,000 No outcome guaranteed
Back glass replacement Rs. 1,200–5,000 Adhesive quality varies
Don’t leave the shop until every item below is confirmed working
Touchscreen responds across all corners
Front and back cameras focus correctly
Earpiece and loudspeaker produce clear audio
Charging port charges at normal speed
Fingerprint / Face ID still works
Wi-Fi and mobile data both connect
No dead pixels, backlight bleed, or colour tint
Phone exterior not scratched or bent
Written repair receipt received
Warranty period written on the receipt

Pakistan’s repair market has plenty of honest, skilled technicians — but also plenty who will fit a copy screen, charge for parts they didn’t replace, or clone your data. The difference is almost always preparation. Back up your data, research the shop, get quotes in writing, and test every function before you pay a single rupee.
