How PakistaniLiving Reviews and Verifies Information

Every phone listing, price estimate, and buying recommendation on PakistaniLiving goes through a consistent verification process before it reaches you. This page explains exactly how we work.

How we source prices

Phone prices in Pakistan change frequently. Official retail prices shift with the rupee exchange rate, and grey market prices at Hafeez Centre in Lahore or Hall Road in Rawalpindi can differ significantly from what dealers list online. To give you the most accurate picture, we cross-reference three sources for every price we publish: official brand press releases or authorized retailer listings, current grey market rates gathered from dealers in Lahore and Karachi, and listings on Daraz and OLX to capture what buyers are actually paying. Where these numbers differ, we explain why and show the range rather than picking one figure and presenting it as definitive.

Prices are reviewed and updated whenever a significant change occurs — typically when a new model launches, when a currency shift of more than five percent happens, or when a reader flags that our published figure no longer matches the market.

Technical specifications are sourced from the manufacturer’s official press materials and cross-referenced against GSMArena, which is the most comprehensive and consistently accurate database of phone hardware specifications available. For Pakistani-market variants, we also check whether the retail unit sold locally matches the global specification sheet — some brands ship regional variants with different RAM or storage configurations.

How we verify specifications

If a specification cannot be confirmed through at least two independent sources, we flag it as unconfirmed rather than publishing it as fact.

How we check PTA approval status

PTA (Pakistan Telecommunication Authority) approval status is verified using the DIRBS (Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System) database maintained by PTA. For newly launched phones, we check whether the model has been registered for import and provide guidance on the expected PTA tax using the FBR mobile device tax calculator. We do not estimate PTA costs from memory — every figure is generated directly from the official calculators at the time of writing and timestamped accordingly.

Editorial independence

PakistaniLiving does not accept payment to change, inflate, or suppress product ratings or written assessments. Brands may provide press information, but editorial decisions — what we cover, how we score it, what we recommend — are made independently by our team.
