How to Stop Balance Deduction in Pakistan: Jazz, Zong, Ufone and Telenor Codes

Many Pakistani mobile users lose balance after their data package expires because their phone switches to Pay-As-You-Go internet automatically. A single background app update or WhatsApp sync can drain Rs. 20–50 in minutes at Pay-As-You-Go rates. Every major operator has a code to stop this — and most people do not know about it.

*275#Jazz Balance Save
*4004#Zong Balance Save
*6611#Ufone Balance Save
*342#Telenor Balance Save

Quick Answer: Balance Save Codes for All Networks

NetworkBalance Save / Data Block CodeWhat It Does
Jazz*275#Blocks Pay-As-You-Go mobile data when your bundle expires
Zong*4004#Disables data charges outside active bundles
Ufone*6611#Activates balance protection on Pay-As-You-Go data
Telenor*342#Stops automatic data deduction when bundle runs out
Important: Verify the Current Code with Your OperatorOperator codes change periodically. If a code above does not work, call your operator helpline (Jazz: 111, Zong: 310, Ufone: 333, Telenor: 345) or check the official app. The helpline is free from your own network.

Why Does Your Balance Get Deducted After the Package Ends?

When your data bundle finishes, your SIM does not stop using mobile data. It switches to Pay-As-You-Go, charging your main balance per KB or MB at rates significantly higher than bundle pricing. Apps running in the background — WhatsApp, TikTok, YouTube auto-play, app updates, Gmail sync — continue consuming data without you doing anything.

Common deduction triggers after a bundle ends:

  • WhatsApp staying connected and downloading media
  • Automatic app updates on Android and iPhone
  • Social media apps refreshing in the background
  • Cloud backup (Google Photos, iCloud) running over mobile data
  • Map apps pre-downloading tile data

What to Do If Your Balance Still Gets Deducted

1Dial the balance save code for your network (table above) and confirm activation.
2Turn off mobile data in your phone’s settings when your package runs out and you are not actively using it.
3Check active subscriptions: Dial *2# on Jazz or check the My Jazz app — some value-added services (VAS) deduct daily from your balance. Unsubscribe from any you did not activate intentionally.
4Call the helpline if deductions continue: Jazz 111, Zong 310, Ufone 333, Telenor 345. Ask them to check for any active subscriptions or VAS charges on your number.
5File a PTA complaint at pta.gov.pk/complaints if the operator helpline does not resolve the issue within 48 hours.

How to Check What Is Eating Your Balance (Jazz)

Dial *2# on Jazz to see all active subscriptions. Any service listed there is deducting from your balance. Reply with the cancellation option number to unsubscribe. On the My Jazz app: go to My Account → Subscriptions to see the full list and cancel individually.

Is Balance Save free to activate?

Yes — dialing the balance save/data block code is free on all four operators. The code itself does not cost anything. However, some operators may charge for certain premium VAS services separately from the balance save feature.

Will WhatsApp stop working if I activate Balance Save?

Balance Save blocks Pay-As-You-Go data deductions from your main balance — it does not turn off your data connection entirely. WhatsApp will still work if you have an active data bundle. If your bundle has expired, WhatsApp will still try to connect; Balance Save just prevents that from charging your main balance, meaning the connection may time out or fail instead of deducting money.

Can I remove Balance Save later?

Yes. Dial the same code again to toggle it off. On Jazz (*275#), the menu shows activate/deactivate options. Check your operator’s helpline or app for the deactivation method if the same code does not toggle it.

Does Balance Save work on 5G?

Yes. Balance Save blocks Pay-As-You-Go charges regardless of the network generation (2G, 3G, 4G, or 5G). The mechanism works at the billing layer, not the radio layer.
